Design of a Robust MAC Protocol for LoRa

چکیده
Low-power wide-area networks enable large-scale deployments of low-power wireless devices. LoRaWAN is a long-range technology that has emerged as and low data rate solution to support Internet Things applications. Although provides cost-efficient networking solution, recent literature shows it performs poorly in terms reliability security dense due the uncoordinated (ALOHA-based) nature MAC (medium access control) protocol. Furthermore, not robust against selective jamming attacks. This article proposes CRAM: time-synchronized cryptographic frequency hopping protocol designed for LoRa physical layer. CRAM reduces contention by fairly exploiting available space maximizes entropy channel algorithm. We develop large testbed simulator thoroughly evaluate proposed Our evaluations show significantly improves scalability increases utilization while making difficult perform compared standard

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
Evaluation of a BIBD Based Directional MAC Protocol for Wireless Ad Hoc Networks
The use of directional antennas in wireless ad hoc networks can significantly improve global performance due to a high spatial channel reuse. Nevertheless, its introduction poses new location dependent problems related to the MAC protocol. In this paper, the Balanced Incomplete Block Design theory has been exploited to develop a new MAC protocol for wireless ad hoc networks using directional ant...
متن کاملEfficient Mac Protocol Design for Wireless Sensor
The past two decades have seen increasing interests in the field of wireless sensor networks (WSNs), which have potential applications covering all aspects of the human life. The major issue in WSNs is power conservation since wireless sensors are usually battery-powered. In a typical sensor node, the wireless interface consumes the largest share of the power budget. Hence, an energy efficient ...
متن کاملDesign of Hybrid MAC Protocol for Wireless Sensor Network
Time division multiple access (TDMA) and frequency division multiple access (FDMA) are two popular multiple access technique that used in several wireless sensor networks. Both TDMA and FDMA have their own advantages and disadvantages. In this article, we have tried to use these two together for reducing the interference of inter-cluster and intra-cluster communication. We have considered a mod...
متن کاملDesign of Efficient and Reliable MAC protocol for Wireless Technologies
In this paper, the performance of IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol is analysed in terms of efficiency and reliability in wireless networks. In the IEEE 802.11, an exponential backoff has been adopted, which means whenever a collision occurs, the contention window (CW) of the station is doubled until it reaches the maximum value. The purpose of increasing CW is to reduce the collision probability by dis...
